Objectives

At the end of this module, participant will be able to;
• 1. Set up and execute steady state and dynamic models using specialized and advanced process simulation software, specifically Aspenhysys by Aspentechnology and Provision II by Esscor Simulation Sciences.
• 2. Understand the fundamental selection criteria for primary “Production Separators” first as vertical or horizontal and as two or three Phase service in operation.
• 3. Select and sequence process equipment for oil (condensate), produced water and gas effluents.
• 4. Identify refrigeration system to be adopted for a particular Sales Gas, NGL and LPG process
• 5. Understand Acid Gas Treatment Process for the removal/reduction of CO2 and H2S and fully appreciate the factors that affect higher quality effluent Sweet Gas.
• 6. Determine heat, material and energy balances for different process systems
• 7. Develop PFDs’ and P&IDs’ for Oil and Gas Production Facility with detailed focus on the Sales Gas Production Facility.
• 8. Understand Piping Material Selection based on the composition and the thermal conditions of the fluid.
• 9. Appreciate fully how to set up instruments and process control loop on piping and mechanical units.
• 10. Develop Safe Charts or query such deliverables, using API RP 14C.
