Activities

• -Mechanical units: Pumps, Separators (Pressure Vessels), Compressors and Flare Stacks
• -Lines: Single and Multiphase Flowlines, Production Manifold Headers and Pipelines, Pressure Vessel lines and Nozzles
• -Pump lines (Suction and Discharge).

Objectives

At the end of this module participant will be able to; Develop complex and systematic mathematical computations using Ms Excel to;
• 1. Size and select Flowlines/Pipings/Pipelines NPS, in multi and single phase HC fluid services.
• 2. Size and select Nozzles on Pressure Vessels.
• 3. Size and select Pumps Suction and Discharge lines
• 4. Size and select Pump type for use and applying pump selection criteria i.e. NPSHA/R, BHP, BEP and TDH in vendor bid reviews. Understand how to apply pumps in series and parallel operation.
• 5. Use particle size, p, vapor velocity, VV, and liquid residence time, LRT Criteria to determine pressure Vessel sizes
• 6. Size and select Compressor type for use and applying Compressor selection criteria of Polytropic Brake Horse Power, Operating Points, Sonic Velocity and BMEP for vendor bid reviews.
• 7. Size Flare stack to determine required height and diameter, required to protect personnel against radiation in the process facility vicinity.
